A nurse from Winscombe in North Somerset has been selected for the prestigious Queen’s Nurse Award.
Kieren Logan-Gallen (age 48) was granted the title, which celebrates esteemed leaders and role models who are exceptional community practitioners, committed to providing the highest standards of person-centred care.
The Winscombe resident has been a registered nurse for over 24 years and is now Head of Learning and Talent Development at not-for-profit care provider Sanctuary Care, which delivers nursing, residential, dementia, respite and palliative care.
Kieren was presented with the Queen’s Nurse badge and certificate by Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Department of Health and Social Care at a special awards ceremony.
Throughout much of his career, Kieren has worked in the adult social care sector and joined Sanctuary Care in 2022.
As Head of Learning and Talent Development at Sanctuary Care, Kieren has a key role in shaping the organisation’s clinical training pathways, leadership programmes, and advanced clinical skills courses for care practitioners in care homes across England and Scotland.
Commenting on the accolade, Kieren Logan-Gallen said:

Kieren hopes to further enhance training and development at the not-for-profit organisation by working with the Director of Quality & Clinical Improvement, Emily O’ Hara, to create a world-class training programme for all staff, ensuring residents receive the very best care possible.
