Residents at Spynie Care Home in Elgin were treated to a heart-warming visit from Ella, a charming Shetland sheep and shepherdess Sharon Hurford, bringing joy and nostalgia to the residents.
Sharon’s visit was particularly special as she brought along not only Ella but also fleeces and wool, ensuring that residents with sight impairments could enjoy a tactile experience. The soft texture of the wool brought back fond memories for many, especially those with a farming background, allowing them to reconnect with their rural roots.
“I love to share the enjoyment I have with my sheep by taking them to local care homes. This is something my grandparents would have loved,” said Sharon. Her dedication and passion were evident as she engaged with the residents, sharing stories and answering questions about Ella and her flock.
