A Midlands-based home care service hopes to ignite community spirit by sponsoring a local football team – with the goal of uniting people of all ages and backgrounds.
New Age Care, whose HQ is in Leamington Spa, began sponsoring local junior side Whitnash Football Club, to support the development of a youth programme that complements the club’s established senior team.
Whitnash offers a development squad that allows children of all abilities to play football. This initiative is made possible through the dedication of 25 local volunteers, including coaches, committee members, and team secretaries, who generously contribute their time and expertise each week.
Thanks to generous sponsorship and ongoing support from companies like New Age Care, Whitnash FC runs a subsidy programme to make football more accessible to lower-income families. This programme offers a 50% reduction in fees, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent children from enjoying the benefits of team sports.
The club has seen significant progress over the past year and relies on sponsorships to ensure children have access to the latest equipment and coaching, allowing them to compete effectively in the league, and enhance their overall development.
Sam Turner, a Member of Whitnash Football Club, said: “We’re delighted with the success of Whitnash Football Club so far if it wasn’t for the generous sponsorships made by the likes of New Age Care, none of this would be possible.”
Whitnash has ambitious plans for the future and with additional funding, they aim to develop and improve their current training ground, ensuring it remains playable in all weather conditions.
Samantha Whittaker, Director at New Age Care, said: “We are committed to giving back to the community. It’s the cycle of life. We’re proud to support the little ones who may grow up to work for us or require our assistance as they get older.”
While New Age Care focuses on bringing together and supporting the local community, their shirt sponsorship also serves a dual purpose. It increases awareness of its services and places them in front of an audience that might be exploring home care options for their loved ones.
New Age Care has also recently sponsored Stafford Atletico FC Under 7s, looking to build a strong community in Staffordshire as it continues to expand its presence throughout the Midlands.
