Beacon House Care Home Brews Support for Dementia UK with “Time for A Cuppa” Event

Beacon House Care Home, part of the Centrum Care Group, which is located in Dartmouth, is delighted to announce its participation in “Time for A Cuppa 2024”, Dementia UK’s annual national tea party.

The care home’s event will take place on Wednesday, 1st May, from 10:30 am, and the team will be raising vital funds and awareness for the charity.

The day will feature a delightful bake sale, complimentary tea and coffee, engaging fun activities, and competitions such as “Guess the Weight of the Cake.” Additionally, attendees will have the chance to win fabulous prizes in a raffle, with all proceeds going to support the invaluable work of Dementia UK.

Tushar Shah, Director of Centrum Care Homes, will be present to judge the best cake, adding a competitive edge to the baking festivities.

Cassandra Pearce, a dedicated team member and Dementia Champion at Beacon House, shared her personal motivation for choosing this fundraiser:

“I chose this fundraiser as I have been supporting individuals living with dementia for several years now. I know that raising money for such a valuable purpose and giving individuals across the country the best chance of living a high-quality life means so much to me, especially being the Dementia Champion at Beacon House, and wanting the best for each individual we care for.”

Suzanne Gatrell, Home Manager at Beacon House, said:

“Fundraising is a big part of Beacon House and with so many of our residents living with dementia, we look at raising money to shed light on the condition. Our care home boasts many initiatives and activities dedicated to our residents who live with dementia – helping them to maintain their independence and individuality for as long as possible. Our team is fabulous when it comes to having fun and supporting residents with their own individual journeys.”

Friends, families and local neighbours are all encouraged to come together to support this noble cause. Guests can contribute by participating in the day’s activities, purchasing raffle tickets, and making donations either in person at Beacon House or online via Dementia UK’s donation page.

Suzanne added: “Beacon House care home is committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals living with dementia. By attending “Time for A Cuppa”, you’ll be helping more families access the life-changing support of specialist dementia nurses.”
