Manager Amanda Jackson explained: “It’s been great to open The Mucky Duck. We had a small lounge at the home that residents didn’t use very often, but it’s a lovely space, so we decided to build a bar in there and theme it as a pub. We’ll continue to take residents out to local cafes and restaurants in the town, but now we’ve also got a great place for people to go and for them to enjoy a trip to the pub without leaving the care home!”
The opening has come just in time for the European Football Championships, when staff at the home will be willing England on to success against Spain. The home will be wearing red and white on Sunday to cheer the team on.
