Residents at a Lymington care home enjoyed a frightfully good celebration as they welcomed a party of Brownies for spooky games, laughter and intergenerational fun.
The lounge at Colten Care’s Court Lodge was transformed Halloween-style with creepy cobwebs and decorations with a hilarious ‘wrap the mummy’ challenge proving a particular highlight.
Organised in partnership with the Brownies, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
Joy Earle described it as “brilliant”, adding: “I loved seeing all the children playing and enjoying themselves.”
Fellow resident Patrick Turner said: “It’s interesting to see how costumes have changed over the years. They’re a lot better now.”
And Amy, daughter of resident Margaret Phillips, said: “My mum had a brilliant time and hasn’t stopped telling me about it.”
Court Lodge Home Manager Rebecca Hannam said welcoming children to the home and encouraging social interaction helps residents’ wellbeing.
She added: “Events like this create special memories and give different generations the chance to enjoy one another’s company. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.”
