Regional Manager for Worcestershire’s Sanctuary Care homes has successfully completed the arduous Three Peaks Challenge, raising an incredible total of £2,056 to date for Shelter and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Sanctuary Care employee, Stacey Meredith, aged 46, embarked on the challenge to climb the three highest peaks in the UK – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
The hike started with Ben Nevis, where Stacey met with extreme weather conditions and totalled a five-hour climb. From there, she commenced a six-hour road trip to Scafell Pike, with the climb taking just under four hours.
The final leg to Snowdown took approximately five hours. In total, Stacey and her team embarked on 13 hours and 40 minutes of hiking, covering 462 driving miles, with the challenge completed in 25 hours and 30 minutes.
Stacey, who has been working at Sanctuary Care for 15 years, said:
“I am beyond proud to have been able to take on this challenge in aid of such incredible charities. Having worked at Sanctuary Care with residents who have Alzheimer’s, this is a charity that is close to my heart. And Shelter is the charity that our Senior Operations Team has chosen for our annual challenge, which takes place in September this year.
“I would like to thank all the support, kind words and donations, in particular our amazing colleagues in the Worcestershire region who have been behind me all the way, offering words of encouragement along with the time and effort they have spent fundraising for our charities.”
