Creative Support is a national not-for-profit provider of social care services and has raised over £1,000 for Venture Arts, a Manchester-based organisation that works with neurodivergent artists and artists with a learning disability.

Last year, Venture Arts began their campaign to support the refurbishment of their premises to make the space fully accessible. Creative Support made Venture Arts their nominated charity for their annual raffle and were able to raise over £1,000. This meant a lot to Creative Support as they provide support to a number of brilliant artists (including Josh, pictured) whose work has flourished since joining Venture Arts.

Anna Lunts, CEO of Creative Support said: “We’re delighted to have fundraised for Venture Arts which provides amazing opportunities for gifted artists in Manchester. We’re excited to continue following the creative journeys of such a talented group of artists.”

Josh has been part of Venture Arts for just over nine years. With all the donations received, they will offer four completely new studios for artists to explore crafts, exhibitions, green screen, dark room, and art therapy. Josh commented that he is most looking forward to “accessing the dark room to develop photos”, as he is particularly passionate about photography.

Marisa Draper, Head of Operations and Internal Strategy at Venture Arts commented: “This refurbishment project has been a costly one to undergo and we’ve been so fortunate to have all kinds of brilliant donors, including Creative Support whose donation will go towards our new hydraulic lift and adjustable tables so Josh and all artists with mobility needs can freely access the entire area. We love having Creative Support come in and show their enthusiasm for the space and all the artists that work here, we’re so grateful that they have shown their dedication to this community.”

The new space will also feature Josh’s canvas series ‘colours at the carnival’. A projection of Josh’s series of paintings will stream across one of the studios, encouraging the audience to totally absorb his work and get lost in his expressionist techniques.
