Lights, camera, talent! NAPA gives care homes a starring role in Care Sector’s Got Talent

CSGT Activity Book Cover

From red-carpet arrivals and photo booths to mocktails and personalised awards, NAPA’s free guide gives everyone in a care setting a chance to get involved in Care Sector’s Got Talent

Care homes across the country are being invited to roll out the red carpet, dust off their dancing shoes and get into the Care Sector’s Got Talent spirit – with a little help from a new activity pack from the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA).

Created to support Championing Social Care’s Care Sector’s Got Talent 2026, the free activity pack gives activity teams 12 ideas for bringing the excitement of the competition into their own care settings – whether that means putting on a mini talent show, creating decorations, making mocktails, setting up a photo booth or simply getting everyone involved behind the scenes.

And you don’t have to be a performer to take part.

The guide encourages care teams to give residents, staff, families and volunteers a role that suits them, from welcoming guests and choosing the music to presenting certificates, taking photographs, cheering on performers or helping with refreshments.

It also includes practical tips and adaptations to help make activities accessible and enjoyable for people with different abilities, communication styles and preferences, with ideas for supporting people living with dementia, physical or sensory disabilities, autism and learning disabilities.

The free activity pack will be available to download from the Championing Social Care website from Monday 14 September. Championing Social Care will also share the pack through its social media channels and database, making it easy for care homes and activity teams across the UK to access and use.

Hilary Woodhead, Chief Executive Officer at NAPA says: “Care Sector’s Got Talent is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity, personality and talents within our sector. We wanted the Activity Workbook to help care teams capture that same sense of excitement in their own settings and make sure everyone has an opportunity to be involved. Sometimes it’s the small roles, shared moments and encouragement from others that make an activity truly meaningful.”

With the Care Sector’s Got Talent final three weeks away, NAPA’s activity pack is intended to help Activity Coordinators and care teams build their own excitement around the event and celebrate the talents within their own communities.

The live final will take place at Care Show Birmingham at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday 7 October, with eight finalists taking to the stage from 6pm. Free tickets are available via Eventbrite, and people are encouraged to secure them early as they are going fast.

For those unable to attend in person, the full Care Sector’s Got Talent show will also be broadcast on YouTube on Friday 9 October at 2.30pm, giving care teams across the UK the chance to watch the performances together.

Angela Boxall, Co-Chair of Championing Social Care, said: “Care Sector’s Got Talent is about so much more than what happens on the stage. It’s about recognising the incredible people who make up our care community and giving everyone the opportunity to be part of something positive.

“NAPA’s activity pack is a fantastic way for care teams to bring that spirit into their own settings. Whether someone wants to perform, make decorations, welcome guests or simply cheer from the audience, there’s a role for everyone. We hope it inspires care teams to get involved, have fun and celebrate the talents within their own communities.”
