Thistle Court Care Home recently hosted their summer BBQ event, transforming the venue into a tropical paradise for a lively Tiki-themed celebration. Residents, who are fondly referred to as family members enjoyed sitting outside on the patio which was decorated with colourful leis, tropical flowers and island themed decorations.
The day started with ‘Marcus the Singer’ coming in to perform, and as he set the mood by singing classic, upbeat party songs it encouraged family members to dance and clap along. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the team at Thistle Court embraced the Tiki theme by wearing outfits that featured bold prints and playful accessories, bringing an extra layer of excitement to the day.
The BBQ prepared by the care homes chefs included burgers, hotdogs and desserts as well as tropical flavoured drinks served from coconuts. The shared laughter and dancing created an experience that brought the Thistle Court community even closer together.
The Cwmbran care home’s approach to life recognises the values, beliefs and identity of each person. Each person that may need support is unique and by understanding one’s life history, one’s journey in life, by striving to be a true continuation of home, the team at Thistle Court Home create a place where everyone feels safe and never alone.
