Yves’ journey in the care industry is nothing short of remarkable. Having moved to the UK from war-torn Congo in 2001, he started working with Access Your Care in Aug 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.
Despite having no previous experience in care, Yves quickly adapted to his role and has since become known for his friendly attitude, excellent communication skills, and passion for care.
Yves’ personal qualities make him stand out in the care industry. He is kind, compassionate, and caring, and always goes about his work with a smile on his face. He takes the time to get to know his clients, remembering their likes and dislikes, and is skilled at putting them at ease. Yves’ dedication and commitment to his work have made a significant difference to the lives of his colleagues, service users, and their families.
During the pandemic, when many clients were isolated and struggling, Yves provided a listening ear and supported them through difficult times. He also used his passion and qualification as a dance instructor to motivate and support clients with arthritis or restricted mobility in improving their mobility and flexibility. Yves incorporated improvised dance routines during his visits, and many clients, including those with dementia, have enjoyed some ballroom dancing.
Yves’ work has not gone unnoticed, with numerous compliments coming in from clients, clients’ families, and staff. One client’s daughter praised Yves for being “lovely and helpful,” while a member of staff complimented him on how he handled a situation with a client, saying “Yves was brilliant.”
Yves’ impact on the community is significant, and he is an excellent role model for the care industry. His cheerful attitude, excellent communication skills, and passion for care have made a difference in several ways to his clients, colleagues, and service users.
