February is the month of all things to do with matters of the heart so what better opportunity to make things official than to make a proposal.
That’s exactly what Caring View, Institute of Health and Social Care Management and Championing Social Care are doing as they get down on bended knee and ask the social care sector to design the logo for the #GreenHeartForSocialCare campaign.
The green heart is a symbol of support for social care, those who use its services and those who work in the sector. The movement has seen hundreds of people don a green heart on their social media names in a show of support, but now we want something official.
Caring View, Institute of Health and Social Care Management and Championing Social Care are calling on the social care sector to design the logo for the #GreenHeartForSocialCare campaign.
Adam Purnell, Director of Social Care for the Institute of Health and Social Care Management said: “Throughout the pandemic, the public and community support for social care has been inspiring. From companies donating food and supplies to school children 3D printing PPE in their bedrooms. This support was a lifeline for the sector and reminded the nation why social care is a vital for our society.
“The Green Heart For Social Campaign is a visual reminder of how vital social care is, the social media campaign has shown us how many people work in the sector and has provided us with an opportunity to share why we value care.”
The #GreenHeartForSocialCampaign is asking anyone who is passionate about the value of social care to submit their design, with the winning design being selected as the next logo for the #GreenHeartForSocialCampaign. This logo will be used by everyone who supports the campaign as well as branding materials, including featuring on websites, pin badges, emails, posters etc.
Rebecca Woolley, Director of Championing Social Care highlights the importance of community engagement within the programme, ‘The competition is intentionally open to everyone, everyone at some point in their lives will come into contact with social care, the sector supports us when we are most vulnerable and everyone who wants an outlet to celebrate and champion the vital work of social care should have this opportunity.’
The competition will be open to anyone in the UK, designs should include at least one image of a green heart.
