Three Kent care homes, all part of family-run group Nellsar, have proudly achieved the coveted Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award – national recognition for delivering outstanding, compassionate end-of-life care.
Bromley Park Care Centre in Bromley, Loose Valley Care Centre in Maidstone and Meyer House Care Centre in Erith have each successfully completed the rigorous GSF accreditation assessment, earning the benchmark award which lasts for the next three years.
The Gold Standards Framework is the UK’s leading training and accreditation programme for care homes, focusing on quality of life for people nearing the end of life. The scheme enables teams to deliver personalised, coordinated care with dignity, compassion and respect – providing peace of mind to both residents and their families.
Speaking about the achievement, Glenda Osmotherly, Director of Operations at Nellsar, said: “This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our teams. The GSF award reflects how exceptionally well-managed these homes are – and, most importantly, the difference that makes to our residents and their loved ones. Countless people will benefit from care that is not only clinically skilled but also delivered with empathy, understanding and compassion. What an amazing difference our team members make every day – they should feel extremely proud.”
Khadija Kachra, Manager of Bromley Park Care Centre, added: “Our teams worked incredibly hard to achieve this award, and I would like to pay special tribute to Beth Fernandez whose commitment and guidance made such a difference. She worked closely with our Clinical Leads to ensure they not only completed but truly understood the importance of the Gold Standards Framework. Her support was invaluable in helping a busy home like ours stay focused on the goals, and both in the lead-up to and on the day of inspection, she was an exceptional source of support. We are so grateful for her contribution.”
In a letter of congratulations to Nellsar, Mrs Julie Armstrong-Wilson, GSF Chief Operating Officer, said: “We would like to congratulate you and the staff on your success and thank you for all the hard work you have put into this. We are extremely proud of your achievement and we are sure that this will be of great benefit to you, your residents and all who work in the home. Well done!”
The homes will formally receive their awards at the GSF Conference and Awards Ceremony on 26th September 2025 at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where best practice examples from across the UK will be showcased.
For Nellsar, the accreditation reflects not just an assessment outcome, but a continuation of a long-standing commitment to excellence across its 13 care homes. The recognition builds on the group’s ethos of providing not only safety and clinical expertise, but also a culture of compassion, comfort and respect that underpins every stage of care.
