Talented teenagers staged a vibrant showcase of music, song and dance to delight residents at a Chichester care home.
Ten students from Chichester High School along with two of their teachers visited Colten Care’s Wellington Grange in Broyle Road to perform live before an audience gathered in the home’s Market Cross Sitting Room.
The end-of-term visit was designed to promote community engagement for students and residents alike.
While one young visitor played guitar and sang, others performed songs from popular musicals including Wicked and Cabaret.
And residents loved watching the school’s student dancers perform solo and group-choreographed pieces.
After the show, organised by teacher Emily Wells and Companionship Team members at Wellington Grange, visitors and hosts engaged in conversation with each other.
The afternoon proved a hit with both parties.
“It was quite extraordinary,” said Wellington Grange resident Gillian Allen, while one of the students said: “It was so lovely to perform here.”
Wellington Grange Home Manager Hayley Geddes said: “Our residents always enjoy a visit by young people, especially a group as talented as this one. It was an ideal opportunity to enjoy some first-class entertainment and foster links with the local community. The school have already expressed interest in returning with extracts from their next show, Mary Poppins.”
