A Dorset care home staged a lively afternoon of entertainment to thank residents and families for doing their bit to support a local food bank.
The fun at Colten Care’s Avon Cliff in Bournemouth featured a ‘swinging Sinatra’ tea party featuring Ol’ Blue Eyes tribute artist Scott Free.
Among the guests were community friends, many of whom joined in the singing and dancing.
Avon Cliff resident Michael Griffiths said: “It was a fantastic afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful entertainment, delicious refreshments and, of course, the excitement of winning some fantastic raffle prizes.”
Diana Kitcher, who also lives at the Christchurch Road home, said: “It was a truly enjoyable occasion, filled with smiles, laughter and a fantastic sense of community.”
Bournemouth Food Bank is Avon Cliff’s charity of the year and so the afternoon was an opportunity to showcase to partygoers how it supports local people and families experiencing food insecurity.
The afternoon raised around £200 alongside a generous collection of food donations.
Avon Cliff Home Manager Therea Sales said: “We thank everyone who attended, donated food, purchased raffle tickets, donated prizes or helped behind the scenes.”
