Children’s voices delivered Christmas cheer to appreciative residents at a Dorset care home.
Young singers from Blandford St Mary’s School choir brought their nativity-themed repertoire to Colten Care’s Whitecliffe House in the town.
The primary-age pupils sang festive favourites including Away in A Manger, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Silent Night.
Amid smiles all round, the show got residents singing, clapping and tapping their toes along to the Yuletide vibe.
After the performance, the children spent time chatting with residents and team members and sharing jokes and stories.
Beccy Wareham, Whitecliffe House Companion, said: “The children arrived full of energy, and with particular pupils performing solos, they filled the room with lovely sounds from the very beginning.
“The residents were all joining in and the room was buzzing. Everyone said how good it was and how engaging the children were from start to finish.”
Whitecliffe House resident Jean Peach said: “I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the children singing, and it started the Christmas celebrations off.”
As at all 21 Colten Care homes, Whitecliffe House actively encourages school visits as a way of bringing different generations together.
Beccy added that the school aims to make a return visit to the home in February 2026.
