The Care Workers’ Charity is proud to announce the seventh annual Professional Care Workers Week, a week-long celebration dedicated to recognising the outstanding contributions of care workers across the UK. Taking place from 16th – 20th September 2024, this event highlights the essential role care workers play in our communities and honours their commitment to providing compassionate care. This week is an opportunity to bring their stories to the forefront and to say a collective “thank you” for the work they do every day.
What to Expect
- Inspiring Stories: Throughout the week, we will be sharing powerful and uplifting stories from care workers who have made a significant difference in the lives of those they support. These narratives will showcase the dedication, resilience, and compassion that define the care profession.
- Educational Panels: A series of educational seminars and workshops will be held to enhance the knowledge and skills of care workers. These sessions aim to promote continuous learning and professional development within the care sector.
- Exciting Launches: Unveiling new initiatives from the Care Worker Advisory Group to the ‘Caseworkers’ guidance and statement of expectations on the responsible use of AI and particularly generative AI in adult social care’, which outlines ethical guidelines and best practices for integrating artificial intelligence into the care sector to enhance, not replace, the human touch that defines quality care.
- Community Building: Professional Care Workers Week offers a unique opportunity for care professionals to connect, share experiences, and build a network of support. By fostering a sense of community, we aim to strengthen the bonds between those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
