CareTech Round Table – Improving the Experience of Disabled People in Social Care

Social care leaders came together recently for an online round table discussion, supported by CareTech Foundation,  Purple Tuesday and Championing Social Care. The purpose of the event was to drive better awareness, understanding, knowledge and best in class practice for disabled people, both as people the sector supports and as employees in our teams.

When 22% of people in the UK have a disability and the social care sector faces increasing workforce pressure, recruiting and supporting disabled colleagues is more important than ever.

Jonathan Freeman, CEO, CareTech Foundation says: “Improving customer experience for disabled people might be as simple as reviewing your website and making sure it is accessible to everyone who might be trying to find out more about the care you offer. The round table discussion will offer practical tips and well as highlight the commitments we should all be making for a much more successful social care sector in 2022.”
