Every week, residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, are greeted by a special visitor who has become a cherished part of their routine: Kobi, a five-year-old Labrador with a gentle demeanour and a passion for showing off his toys.
Kobi has been visiting the Home since he was a puppy, sparking joy among residents who look forward to his visits. “We love giving Kobi tasty treats. He always makes us smile!” shares resident Audrey. For many, Kobi’s visits revive happy memories of their own pets, leading to shared stories and laughter.
Clare Walker, Cadogan Court’s Home Manager and Kobi’s owner, highlights the positive impact he has on everyone. “The residents’ faces light up when Kobi visits.
His presence brings both joy and a sense of calm that truly benefits their mental wellbeing,” she says. “For those residents with visual impairments, the chance to feel his fur and warmth is an extra special experience.”
Between playtime and cuddles, Kobi is often seen lounging by the Home Manager’s office, tail wagging eagerly as he waits for visitors. Mealtimes are his busiest hours, with residents stopping by for a quick pet or to admire his latest toy. At other times, Kobi can be found exploring the garden or keeping an eye on the happenings around Cadogan Court, bringing comfort and companionship wherever he goes.
