Care Management Group (CMG) and The Regard Group (Regard), two of the leading organisations in the adult social care sector merged earlier this year. From 1 October 2019, the combined organisation will be known as Achieve together.
With 50 years combined experience, Achieve together will provide the highest levels of support and care to more than 2,000 people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and acquired brain injuries in [356] specialist services across England and Wales.
To lead the new organisation, Emma Pearson has been appointed CEO designate and will join Achieve together in January 2020. Ms Pearson has run services businesses across the public and private sectors throughout her career, most recently at Compass where she was Managing Director of one of the largest sectors in the UK with 13,000 staff.
Peter Kinsey will continue as CEO in the interim and will work with Ms Pearson through a transition period, after which he will move into the role of Special Advisor, remaining as a non-executive director on the Board of Achieve together and remain closely involved with the organisation. David Spruzen, currently Chair of the combined group, will retire from the Board in December.
The rebranding follows the acquisition of Regard in December 2017 and CMG in December 2018 by funds advised by AMP Capital, the global investment manager. The rebrand reflects the collective desire to have a new name and identity which reflects the very best of both brands’ legacies and values. It was a wholly collaborative process, with the people CMG and Regard support, staff, families and industry stakeholders helping to shape the culture and name of the new organisation.
Malcolm Brown, Head of Asset Management Europe at AMP Capital said: “The merger of CMG and Regard combines two fantastic organisations. Achieve together will draw on the strengths of both to be somewhere that staff, the people they support and their families can be proud of.
“We are delighted to welcome Emma to lead Achieve together into the next phase of its growth. Emma brings a great depth of experience running services businesses of significant scale, with public sector customers, including in health and wellbeing. Under Emma’s leadership we look forward to seeing the further development of Achieve together as an organisation with quality at its core and a deep commitment to the delivery of person centred care.
“I’d also like to commend Peter and David for the outstanding job they have done leading firstly CMG, and then through the merger with Regard to bring us to where we are today.”
Emma Pearson, incoming Chief Executive of Achieve together said: “I am thrilled to join Achieve together at this exciting time. The merger has brought together two organisations who are committed to supporting people to fulfil their potential. I can already see the strong culture that exists, and I look forward to leading Achieve together as it moves into the next stage of its growth.”
In its new entity, and with the support of AMP Capital, Achieve together is committed to continuing to work positively to change people’s lives by providing support specifically shaped to individual needs – helping people to live the life they want in order to fulfil their potential.
