As part of the leading care provider’s 25th anniversary big fundraising challenge, Radis is hosting a summer fete to raise money for Maggie’s, a Nottingham-based cancer charity.
The family fun day will be hosted at Nottingham extra care development Gilbert House on 26th August 12-3pm.
The £15.9 million extra care scheme has transformed the site of a former police station into 100% affordable rented homes for older people with care needs, allowing them to feel safe and secure in an alternative to a residential care home.
Gilbert House, which is being brought forward by Preferred Homes, in partnership with Radis and Pinnacle Group, includes 73 modern purpose-built apartments, communal spaces, landscaped gardens and a bistro that is open to the public.
Through the scheme, residents are able to live a vibrant and fulfilled social life, and the summer fete is another way to do exactly that, bringing together families, friends and the local community.
With professional support workers and staff on hand throughout the event, the summer fete is a great opportunity for families to find out more about the services on offer at both Gilbert House and Radis Community Care. Viewings at Gilbert House will also be available on the day.
As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, the leading care provider is taking part in a series of fundraisers, raising money for a variety of charities, including Maggie’s, a local cancer charity.
With a bouncy castle, ice cream van and plenty of food on offer, the event is set to be a fantastic day out for the whole family.
A variety of singers, performers and Hucknall Ukulele Group will be on hand to entertain guests, as well as stalls selling crafts and handmade goods, a tombola and raffle helping to raise funds.
Findlay MacAlpine, Chief Executive Officer at Preferred Homes said:
“The summer fete at Gilbert House will be a great opportunity to celebrate the thriving community that Preferred Homes is now a part of with our new scheme in Hucknall, Gilbert House. We hope to see as many local residents at our event as possible, and to help support the vital work that Maggie’s does in Nottingham.
“It’s a pleasure to work with Radis and Pinnacle not just to support Maggie’s but as partners at Gilbert House, where they deliver essential day-to-day care and support to residents. We hope the scheme will be a mainstay of the community in the years to come.”
Tina Barlow, service manager at Radis Community Care says:
“We’re incredibly excited to host a summer fete at such a lovely extra care service. We’re keen to provide our residents, their friends, families and local communities with a truly fun-filled day that everybody will enjoy.
“These events are also a great way to meet new people, and connect with the community and showcase how we are able to help and support them should they need it.”
Emily Henson, fundraising administrator at Maggie’s said:
