Trinity Homecare says more families are turning to home-based care for older loved ones, often after trying to manage alone for as long as possible, as the BBC launched its “Caring Matters” week focusing on unpaid carers and the realities of caring across the UK.
The week-long BBC initiative brings together programming across TV, radio and digital platforms, exploring the pressures faced by families caring for relatives and the challenges of navigating support.
Trinity says it is increasingly seeing families seek guidance earlier in the care journey, rather than waiting until a crisis point is reached.
Families seeking advice earlier in the care journey Insights from Trinity’s care teams, alongside engagement through its free family webinars, suggest that more people are now looking for reassurance and practical advice before care needs become urgent.
This includes understanding when additional support at home may be needed, and what home care involves in practice.
In insight from its care services, 88% of people receiving live-in care report feeling happier and more settled in their own homes, reflecting a wider preference for remaining in familiar surroundings where possible.
