The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) is delighted to announce the launch of the second phase of recruitment for its Advisory Board and Champions Project, funded by The Rayne Foundation. Following a successful first year, the project is expanding to welcome 15 new members who are passionate about improving the future of the adult social care workforce.
This groundbreaking initiative was established to ensure that care workers’ voices are represented at every level of policy, practice, and research. Over the past year, members of the Advisory Board and Champions Project have worked collaboratively with partners across the social care sector, including the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Skills for Care, and academic researchers from Oxford and Sheffield University.
Together, members have played a vital role in shaping national conversations on workforce wellbeing, retention, and recognition. Their input has informed research projects, contributed to consultations, and helped shape The Care Workers’ Charity’s advocacy priorities.
Among their key achievements in the project’s first year was the creation of ‘Centring Care Workers: A Guide’, a practical co-production resource designed to help organisations embed care worker collaboration into their work. The group has also helped design and review wellbeing resources, supported our 2025 Care Worker Wellbeing Survey, and represented the care workforce at national events and policy roundtables.

The second phase of recruitment will see 15 new members join the Advisory Board and Champions Project, strengthening our reach and ensuring a diverse range of voices from across the UK’s care workforce. Successful applicants will take part in meetings, workshops, and engagement sessions throughout the year, contributing directly to research, policy, and advocacy work.
Applications are now open to care workers across all settings who want to use their experiences to help drive positive change.
