Care Sector Fundraising Ball is back!

The Care Sector Fundraising Ball is back, after a hiatus during the pandemic. On the 24th of September 2022, the sector will come together to raise essential funds for both the Care Workers Charity and Alzheimer’s Society once again.

Nearly 500 guests will be attending the sparkling fundraising event at Grosvenor House in London for a night of fantastic food and entertainment while celebrating the incredible social care sector.

Supporters already confirmed include; CareTech and the CareTech Foundation, Hallmark and the new Hallmark Foundation, Majesticare and Precious Homes.

The special  event was founded by Chair of Care England and Championing Social Care Avnish Goyal, and  in its two first years raised £348,000 for charities supporting the social care sector while building a reputation for being a highlight in the sector calendar.

While the Care Sector Fundraising Ball is accustomed to sparkling, for the first time in 2022 it will be going green! Championing Social Care hosts of the event will be partnering with Ecologi, to offset carbon emissions created by the event, and planting trees to mitigate the loss of trees for essential event materials.

It has become clear that everyone must all do their bit to look after our climate (even when enjoying a four-course meal, open bar and live entertainment) which is exactly why the ball organising committee is excited to take the next step to reduce its impact on the environment.

Avnish Goyal said: We are incredibly pleased to announce that the Care Sector Fundraising Ball is making a comeback to the social care calendar of events and will also be going green!

“This event will be a great opportunity for us all to come together as a sector, fundraise in a meaningful way, network and have fun in the process. We cannot wait.”

Jonathan Freeman MBE, Group Sustainability Director, CareTech PLC ‘We, at CareTech plc, are committed to a greener, cleaner future and will join other sector leaders to reduce our carbon footprint. All of this starts with the Fundraising Ball, where like-minded representatives of the sector will come together to represent the values held dear by all of us.’

Kate Lee, CEO of Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We’re thrilled that Alzheimer’s Society has been chosen as a beneficiary of the Care Sector Fundraising Ball. It’s heart-warming to see the sector coming together again to celebrate our incredible care workers, who have been on the frontline throughout the pandemic, and to raise vital funds for people affected by dementia.

“People with dementia, who make up at least 70% of care home residents, have been worst hit by coronavirus, with thousands dying and many more rapidly deteriorating, from both the virus and knock-on effect of lockdown. Alzheimer’s Society support services including our Dementia Connect support line have used more than six million times since March 2020. The impact of coronavirus is still being felt and our services are needed more than ever. The funds raised on the night will help us provide vital information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for the 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK. We are hugely grateful for your continued support.”

Karolina Gerlich, CEO at the Care Workers Charity said: “We are excited and grateful to be supported by the Care Sector Fundraising Ball 2022. With COVID-19 restrictions lifted it will be a wonderful opportunity for the social care sector to get together and celebrate the work and resilience of the workforce over the past two  years. We are grateful to Hallmark and CareTech for their friendship and continued support.”
