Hallmark Luxury Care Homes has unveiled a new uniform for its entire workforce, designed in direct consultation with its team members.
The bespoke uniform, specifically designed and developed for Hallmark by PCL Corporate Wear, is the result of more than a year of collaboration with over 1,300 team members.
The process brought together insight from teams across the business to create a suite of garments carefully designed and manufactured to meet the realities of working in a care home environment.
The £550,000 uniform investment reinforces the award-winning care organisation’s commitment to its people, recognising them as the foundation of exceptional care.
Nye Brown, CEO of Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, said: “Our teams are the fabric of our organisation. They bring skill, compassion and dedication to their roles every single day, and they deserve a uniform that works as hard as they do. This wasn’t about imposing a design, it was about listening, learning and creating something together that genuinely supports our people in their daily roles.”
Designed through structured consultation, feedback sessions and a series of wearer trials, the uniform has been shaped by team members across the business to ensure it supports the physical, practical and emotional demands of long shifts and close-contact care.
A care team member at Hallmark Henley Manor, Mercy Mugohzi added: “We talked a lot about comfort, movement and pockets, the things that really matter on a long shift. Seeing that feedback reflected in the final uniform makes you feel listened to and valued, and it genuinely supports you to do your job well.”
The uniform has been designed to cater for a wide range of roles across Hallmark’s care homes, including care, nursing, gardening and maintenance, hospitality, wellbeing and reception teams, while maintaining a consistent and recognisable identity.
Operations Director at Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, Nick Banister-Dudley added:
“How our people feel at work matters, it influences mindset. By involving the team directly in the design process, we’ve created a uniform that supports comfort, confidence and pride reinforcing that our team are central to everything we do.”
Insights gathered during the consultation process also highlighted the importance of team presentation from a resident perspective, with residents and families valuing team comfort, professionalism and ease of identifying team members at a glance.
Key features of the uniform include:
· Moisture-wicking, breathable fabrics with stretch, supported by a thoughtfully designed pocket system
· Colour and design differentiation to help residents, relatives and teams easily identify roles and levels of seniority
· Crease-resistant, easy-care fabrics designed for frequent washing and long-term colour retention
The uniform launch follows shortly after Hallmark Luxury Care Homes’ company rebrand, further aligning its visual identity with its people-first culture and commitment to delivering high-quality, relationship-centred care.
The uniform will be introduced this month across Hallmark’s 22 luxury care homes, supporting a clear, professional appearance while prioritising the comfort and wellbeing of care teams.
