Leading home care provider Promedica24 has partnered with Wakefield primary school Silcoates Junior to bring generations together through a creative initiative designed to spread joy and tackle loneliness over the recent holiday season.

170 pupils from the school in Wakefield took part in the project, creating personalised art books for older people receiving live-in and home care from Promedica24 across the UK. The artwork explored the theme “what the holidays mean to me” and was compiled into books which were delivered to clients throughout the festive season.

24 pieces of artwork were selected in total, and the album featured the name and age of the child who created it, helping connect the young pupils with the older people receiving care.

This marks the third year of the partnership between Silcoates Junior School and Promedica24, with previous initiatives seeing pupils create handmade calendars and Christmas cards to share joy and festive spirit.

Promedica24 helps people maintain their independence and remain in the comfort of their own home by providing a variety of live-in and home care services, from 24/7 support to hourly and part time care.

Grzegorz Wrzosek, Country Manager at Promedica24, said:

“At Promedica24, going above and beyond for the people we support is at the heart of what we do. Offering high-quality care isn’t just about practical support, but also about finding meaningful ways to brighten someone’s day and help them feel valued and connected.

“We have been delighted to be able to continue our partnership with Silcoates Junior School for a third year. The creativity and kindness shown through these art books brought genuine joy to the people we support, and initiatives like this play an important role in reducing loneliness and strengthening connections between generations.”

Ellen Moss, Head of Silcoates Junior School, said:

“This project beautifully captures the spirit of generosity and connection that we encourage in our Junior School. Our pupils have embraced the opportunity to express what the holidays mean to them, and it is incredibly rewarding to know their artwork will bring warmth and happiness to others. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Promedica24 and to support this meaningful initiative.”
