We are incredibly proud to share that our Director of Wellbeing and Strategy, Michael Fullerton, has been awarded the Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Gold Award – one of the highest honours in the sector.

Presented by Deborah Sturdy, the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, the award recognises Michael’s outstanding commitment to nursing excellence, compassionate leadership, and the continuous improvement of adult social care. It celebrates an exceptional career dedicated to promoting wellbeing, championing the voices of people we support, and embedding high standards of person-centred care.

Michael said:

“I’m deeply honoured to receive this award. It reflects not only my journey, as a proud leaning disability nurse, but the tireless work of so many colleagues across Achieve together who share a deep belief in the value of each person we support.”

Deborah Sturdy, the UK’s Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care said:

“His compassionate, strategic and collaborative approach models the very best of what nursing in social care can and should be. Widely respected by his peers, colleagues and people supported, Michael embodies the principles of the Chief Nurse Gold Award.”

Zoe Armstrong, Chief Care and Quality officer at Achieve together, said:

“Michael’s leadership ensures that the people we support are not only included in shaping their care but are heard at the highest levels of government. His work has not only improved care quality and professional practice but also raised the national profile of learning disability nursing in adult social care. He is a role model, a system-shaper, and a tireless advocate for those with the least voice.”

This Gold Award highlights the strength and impact of nursing leadership across Achieve together and reaffirms our mission to support every individual to live happy, healthy, and meaningful lives.
