With National Ice Cream Day coinciding with the heatwave, staff of Rogers House Residential Care Home in Wigmore kept their residents cool, with a trip around the home with the ice cream trolley.
Despite the soaring temperatures, a chilled afternoon was on the cards at the Drewery Drive care home, as staff ensured their residents could keep calm and carry on through the level 4 heat health warning, by delivering some refreshing ice creams.
All the traditional favourite flavours were on the menu, from mint choc chip to raspberry ripple, and there were plenty of tasty toppings to choose from too, including the obligatory flake and sprinkles, of course.
Jackie Miles, Home Manager of Rogers House said: “Heatwave or not, we all love an ice cream, don’t we? With temperatures exceptionally high this week, we’ll be enjoying plenty of cool drinks and the odd ice cream to keep us all cool!”
