Exeter care home worker and photographer captures residents and staff for the Christmas season

Resident and staff of RMBI care home

Residents and staff members at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, have just got into the Christmas spirit with a very special activity. Donning their cosiest winter clothes and showing their warmest smiles, they posed for a professional photographer and had their pictures taken in a Christmassy background.

The photographer, Hannah Bromell, is also a carer at Cadogan Court, where she has worked for over 15 years. Hannah supports residents at the Home’s dementia area. “The residents and staff feel like an extended family to me,” she says.

Hannah first offered to take photos of residents and staff three years ago, during the pandemic. She explains: “I thought it would be nice to have the photos sent out to families and loved ones that couldn’t visit. It was a lovely way to lift everyone’s spirits, so I have continued to do this each year and I enjoy it!”

The staff member started her photography business five years ago. However, she is able to combine and enjoy both works, supporting people at the Home and exploring her creativity through the lens.

Home Manager Clare Walker says: “I think her ability to interact so well with our residents, regardless of their cognitive capabilities, has allowed her to see each individual’s true sparkle in each snapshot.”
