Staff at Country Court’s 32 care homes will receive a ‘Care Package’ consisting of over 20 items including food, drink and basic provisions to help with day to day life during the Covid-19 pandemic. The company has over 2000 staff, all of whom will receive the packages as a thanks for their work caring for the some of the most vulnerable people in society. The packages, which include items such as toilet roll, dried and tinned goods and hand sanitiser, have been arranged courtesy of the Kachra family, owners of the Country Court group, after seeing their staff struggle to the get the provisions they needed.
With homes situated as far south as Brighton and as far north as York, it has proved a big operation to ensure all staff are looked after. A team of volunteers from the group’s head office, together with the owners of Elevate fitness studio based close by, are spending several days sorting and packing the boxes which will be delivered directly to each care home for staff to take home and share with their families.
Country Court CEO Alykhan Kachra said “These are very challenging times for everyone in our homes. Coping with the unprecedented changes to everyday life is difficult enough and we have been humbled by the great strength people have shown turning up to the workplace and taking on the additional responsibility of keeping our residents safe every single day”.
He added “As the pressure on buying everyday goods has increased, we see our teams across the company struggling to strike a balance between delivering their part in the overall care service and adapting at home. We hope that this will go some way to making life a little bit easier for them”.
Chairman of Country Court, Abdul Kachra said “We are a family business and our staff are very much part of our extended family. We wanted to do something to acknowledge all of them for all the hard work, compassion and dedication that they show every day in our homes”.
The first boxes have arrived today at Care Homes in London and are continuing to be delivered throughout the next 2 weeks. Bethany Burton a Housekeeper at The Grove Care Home in Waltham said “Absolutely fantastic, thank you so much. Having two young children I worry about having to go out and shop now so this is not only a brilliant gesture but makes me feel good for coming into work as I know I am appreciated for what I do”.
About Country Court
Country Court was founded in 1983 by Roshan Bogha and current Chairman, Abdul Kachra with the opening of their first care home, Beech Lodge in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. The care home’s reputation soon grew, led by kindness, compassion and dignity. A further seven homes were opened by 1990 establishing Country Court as one of the regions most trusted group of care homes. A combination of nursing skills and a professional, yet homely environment, the model for care continued to expand and today Country Court is both caring for and employing thousands of people across the UK. Through the standard of care and the modern, comfortable homes created for residents, Country Court aspires to provide the kind of care every one of us would wish our loved ones to receive. The group operates 31 nursing and care homes and plans to open a further four homes in 2020. It remains a Family-run business to this day, with the company philosophy “Our family caring for yours” at the heart of every home.
