CARE TALK - Hereford & Worcester

Julia argues the case for easing the Environmental Standards with
Health Minister Jacqui Smith MP,
(Lab Redditch),
Peter Luff MP (Con Mid Worcestershire)
and
Paul Keetch MP (LibDem).

This CARE TALK introduced the Health Minister for Social Care to the Chief Executives of the National Care Homes Association and the Registered Nursing Homes Association.
The Environmental Standards, the cause of many Providers giving up, were relaxed.
CARE TALK and The WATCH Project were told of the relaxation on 24th January 2003 when Andrew arranged a BBC Radio interview and the Minister said that, particularly following last year's CARE TALK Government had listened and was relaxing the environmental standards".

The Minister's statement was confirmed by the DOH on the 19th February 2003
