AKW, the UK’s leading manufacturer of showering solutions for the care market, will be sharing its specialist knowledge and extensive experience of the care sector at The Care Forum.
The Care Forum is a highly focused event that brings together care home managers and suppliers for one-to-one business meetings and valuable networking opportunities. At the event, care professionals will have the opportunity to tap into AKW’s knowledge of inclusive and accessible bathroom design and adapted living, while also learning about the specialist’s wide selection of popular new innovations that enhance the provision of high quality care, including its next generation smart electric showers.
AKW’s innovative new range of electric showers, named the iShowers, includes three models: iSure, iTherm and iCare. The most advanced model in the range, the BEAB Care approved and RNIB certified iCare combines the latest smart shower technology with additional safety features to provide ultimate ease of use and a safe, relaxing shower experience. It features built-in Bluetooth® technology to enable users and carers to effortlessly turn it on and off and control water temperature and flow via a wireless remote control or iPhone app. Its modern design and attractive yet highly sensory user interface allows greater personal independence for both the care-giver and receiver.
The iCare features smooth, rounded edges to minimise the potential for injury and is thermostatically controlled to ensure water temperature remains constant. It includes a phased shutdown to flush all residual water out of the system to make it safe for the next use and automatically shuts down if the cold water supply fails or if it has been running for 30 minutes, enhancing safety and prolonging the life of the unit.
Delegates can also learn about AKW’s ‘best-in-class’ range of wet room formers. Concealed under the final floor covering, AKW’s market leading TriForm and Tuff Form formers have been purposely designed to provide completely unrestricted access to the shower space for users. These come in a range of sizes to fit almost all bathroom configurations and enable the installation of leak-free wet rooms. They also have a load capacity of up to 40 stone, making them ideal for use where users require assistance from a carer or a wheelchair during showering. Where high drainage is required, the TriForm, which is capable of handling 78 litres per minute, fits the bill. Furthermore, both the TriForm and Tuff Form come with lifetime warranties.
James Dadd, Marketing Director at AKW, explains: “The Care Forum is an excellent opportunity for us to meet with care professionals face-to-face in a more relaxed, informal setting and freely exchange knowledge and ideas. We’re looking forward to sharing our experience and updating delegates on the latest innovations that can enhance the standard and quality of care they deliver and further improve the experience of those receiving care.”
This year’s Care Forum takes place on the 6-7 June 2016 at Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa, Northamptonshire, England. Delegate places are still available at the event, book your place today for free via the Care Forum website.
