June 2000. In Westminster Hall on the day we took Association
Chairmen
to meet Members of the Care Standards Bill Standing Committee.

January 2003:
CARE TALK - Hereford & Worcester
Julia argues the case for easing the Environmental
Standards with
Health Minister Jacqui Smith MP,
(Lab Redditch),
Peter Luff MP (Con Mid Worcestershire)
and
Paul Keetch MP (LibDem).

This CARE TALK introduced the Health
Minister for Social Care to the Chief Executives of the National
Care Homes Association and the Registered Nursing Homes Association.
The Environmental Standards, the cause of many Providers giving
up, were relaxed.
CARE TALK and The WATCH Project were told
of the relaxation on 24th January 2003 when Andrew arranged a BBC
Radio interview and the Minister said that, particularly following
last year's CARE TALK Government had listened and was relaxing the
environmental standards".
The Minister's statement was confirmed
by the DOH on the 19th February 2003
